LISSUN, India’s leading mental health platform, has taken a significant step towards addressing the pressing issue of rising student suicides by introducing a contextualized tech product as an essential component of its holistic outreach programme dedicated to nurturing students’ mental and emotional well-being. The concerning statistics on student suicides in Kota have raised alarms, with the count reaching a distressing 23 for the year, marking the highest figure since 2015. LISSUN recognizes the urgent need to tackle this crisis and has developed a comprehensive solution. The official launch of this vital service coincided with Kota city’s unveiling of its RiverFront Heritage site, graced by the honourable Mr Tarumeet Singh Bedi, a renowned social activist and author from Kota.

Avinash Goyal from BL Residency Hostel, Bhavit Jain from Pragya Astha Hostel, Kirti Singh Songara, Vice President, Resonance, and Kundan Kumar, Centre Head of PW Vidyapeeth Kota, also spoke at the inauguration event in Kota, India.

During the press conference, Dr. Krishna Veer Singh, Co-founder & CEO of LISSUN, stated:

The gravity of the student suicide crisis in Kota cannot be overstated. With a troubling surge in student suicides, it is imperative to address this pressing issue. The mental well-being of these students is fundamental to their future success, and we must provide them with essential support and resources. By introducing our contextualized tech product for student mental and emotional wellness, we take a significant step toward ensuring that no student in our nation feels isolated in their struggles. We firmly believe that we can rewrite the narrative of student well-being together, and our commitment to this cause is unwavering.

Founded in 2021 by Krishna Veer Singh and Tarun Gupta, LISSUN provides individuals with mental healthcare services like guidance, therapies, and solutions for their emotional and mental well-being. The platform also offers end-to-end care for mental health, using tech tools for self-diagnosis and delivering treatments to patients. The startup’s mission is to improve the lives of millions of people by providing psychological help in all facets of daily life. Users of the app can browse through a rich selection meticulously picked and designed by psychologists to assist them daily. They can do a fast calming exercise, a short assessment, some flashcards, or write in the Dear Diary. They can be paired with the finest mental health expert for their needs. Users can also take individualized wellness tests to determine where they are and how to get there.

Earlier this month, the Gurugram-based firm raised $1.3 million in a seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) and Rainmatter Capital (Zerodha Group). Existing investors, including IvyCap Ventures, WFC, Growx Ventures, and a few other marquee angel investors, also participated in this round, bringing its total raised to over $2.3 million.
