The National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDC International) has teamed with Alakh Pandey’s EdTech startup Physics Wallah (PW) to establish the Bharat Innovation Global Private Limited (BIG) programme. The initiative represents an essential milestone in realizing India’s goal of becoming a worldwide educational hub. BIG focuses on making education more compatible with workplace requirements and closing the education-employment gap. This work will be carried out using technology-based and industry-related educational methods.

The BIG initiative aims to provide learning opportunities to people of different ages and needs. It will introduce skills in schools from Class 11 and 12 so that students can be job-ready. It is also open to Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), polytechnics, college students and working people, giving everyone a chance to learn. BIG also prioritizes capacity building for public sector employees so that their skills and knowledge can align with modern governance’s changing demands. The initiative aligns with the new UGC regulations allowing online courses and the National Education Policy 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC and MD of NSDCI, said:

Our partnership with Physics Wallah is a big step towards connecting education and industry needs. The India Innovation Global (BIG) initiative will empower millions of students by giving them the skills they need for future jobs. This collaboration reflects NSDC International’s commitment to increasing employment and aligns with our goal of creating a skilled workforce to meet the needs of the changing economy. Together, we are developing simple and innovative ways to ensure every student is job-ready and can contribute to India’s progress.

Physics Wallah is revolutionizing India’s educational landscape by delivering free quality education to over four crore students through its 85 YouTube channels in 7 vernacular languages. Its footprint spans online, offline, and hybrid modes, reaching 98% of India’s pin codes. The company was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. PW began as a YouTube channel in 2014 and became a Unicorn in 2022. It currently has over 27 lakh paid students and one crore app downloads on the PW app. It has grown into 28 exam prep categories and a skilling vertical, with over 79 tech-enabled Vidyapeeth (offline) and 48 Pathshala (hybrid) centres nationwide.

Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of Physics Wallah, added:

Education is not a static solution; it is a changing journey that requires teamwork, new ideas, and the ability to change. Physics Wallah (PW) aims to give students skills that prepare them for the changing world. Our partnership with NSDCI through BIG is a step towards making education more inclusive. Through this initiative, we want education to help people progress at every age.

BIG is based on digital education, which uses technology to deliver a simple, accessible, and personalized learning experience. This comprises AI-assisted career guidance, game-based learning, adaptable tools, and secure platforms, enabling students from all backgrounds to take industry-relevant courses.
