AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and ServiceNow have formed a ground-breaking cooperation to develop job-ready talent in India and improve the digital economy. The collaboration was highlighted by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which aims to train over 10,000 students in the first year alone, with a broader objective of reaching 25,000 students over three years.

ServiceNow entered into this strategic MoU with AICTE, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. Through this partnership, students will access comprehensive training programmes offered on ServiceNow’s Now Learning platform, encompassing courses tailored to both ServiceNow Administrator and Developer roles. Moreover, participants will also have the opportunity to delve into cutting-edge AI technologies, ensuring they remain at the forefront of digital innovation.

This collaboration aligns with ServiceNow’s global initiative, the RiseUp programme, which aims to equip one million individuals worldwide with essential digital skills. If we look specifically at India, the launch of the University Academic program has already yielded fruitful partnerships with 20 universities across 16 states. These collaborations include ties with governmental bodies, FutureSkills Prime NASSCOM, and the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu. They have successfully trained thousands of students, preparing them to seamlessly transition into the job market.

Nick Tzitzon, Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer at ServiceNow, while meeting AICTE leadership in New Delhi, stated:

ServiceNow is excited to partner with AICTE to equip engineering students with the skills to thrive in today’s digital economy. At ServiceNow, digital transformation requires talent transformation and the RiseUp with ServiceNow program is designed to empower young engineers with job-ready capabilities. The MOU will enable AICTE-affiliated institutes across India to build a pool of qualified talent to drive India’s next wave of tech innovation.

India is driving ServiceNow’s worldwide expansion, with all of the top 10 technology providers and the top five banks in the country utilizing ServiceNow products. There is a growing demand for skilled workers knowledgeable about ServiceNow implementation to assist India’s businesses and organizations in staying ahead of the digital wave and changing how it works. The collaborative effort between AICTE and ServiceNow exemplifies creativity and cooperation in India’s educational landscape. It is expected to empower the next generation of technologists and propel the country’s digital transformation agenda forward.

Speaking on the collaboration, Prof. (Dr) T G Sitharam, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), said:

Ensuring our students are prepared for an evolving world is paramount, requiring us to offer them modern skills and greater access to professional growth opportunities. Our collaboration with ServiceNow is aimed at providing students with advanced training in innovative concepts and techniques, alongside motivation to explore cutting-edge technologies tailored to their needs. This partnership underscores our commitment to student upskilling and technological literacy, which are essential for their future success.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level regulatory council for technical education under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. It is an apex body responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of India’s technical education and management education system. Its official document states that it approves undergraduate, postgraduate, and associate programmes in specified categories at over 10,000 Indian institutions. There are more than 7.5 million students and 2.5 million faculty.
