Simplilearn, a global digital skills training provider, has expanded its partnership with Purdue University Online, known for its commitment to innovation, research, and education, to launch the Applied Generative AI Specialization programme. According to the official statement, the curriculum is specifically designed to provide professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to traverse the fast-growing field of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI).

The Applied Generative AI Specialization programme aims to provide students with a thorough knowledge of this game-changing technology. It covers essential concepts and techniques such as Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, transformers, attention mechanisms, LLM application development, and LLM fine-tuning. This programme leverages a hybrid pedagogy that enables learners to create Gen AI-enabled applications using OpenAI APIs and other popular GenAI tools and deploy them.

The curriculum includes over 50 hours of core material delivered through live online classes led by industry professionals, ensuring a thorough understanding of Generative AI concepts. Participants can use their expertise by working on hands-on projects to create real-world Generative AI-enabled apps. Live online masterclasses, led by Purdue faculty and staff, enhance the learning experience. Exposure to industry tools such as ChatGPT, OpenAI, DALL-E 2, Hugging Face, LangChain, and others guarantees that participants know about cutting-edge technologies. Furthermore, Simplilearn’s JobAssist programme connects students with top hiring organizations, helping them advance their careers in the rapidly developing field of Generative AI.

Speaking about the development, Anand Narayanan, Chief Product Officer of Simplilearn, said:

In today’s dynamic landscape, the increasing demand for AI professionals underscores the significance of Simplilearn’s strategic collaboration with Purdue University for the Applied Generative AI Specialization programme. As we embark on an era where Generative AI is poised to shape a multi-billion dollar market by 2030, this initiative addresses the burgeoning need for adept AI professionals. Our partnership not only presents learners with a distinctive learning pathway but also empowers them with proficiency in cutting-edge industry tools, emerging technologies, and governance frameworks. This strategic alliance addresses the skills gap by enabling learners to acquire the right skills in this ever-evolving domain of Generative AI.

The most important parts of the Purdue University Online and Simplilearn-led Applied Generative AI Specialization programme aim to provide learners with a comprehensive and practical learning experience. After completing the programme, participants will receive a certificate of completion provided jointly by Simplilearn and Purdue University Online, allowing them to upgrade their professional skills. Students will also get access to Purdue’s esteemed alumni association and networking opportunities.

Simplilearn, founded in 2010 and based in San Francisco, California, and Bangalore, India, provides over 3,000 live classes monthly to an average of 80,000 learners who spend over 500,000 hours on the platform. Its programmes enable students to upskill and become certified in popular domains.

Dimitrios Peroulis, Senior Vice President for Purdue University Online, commented on the partnership with Simplilearn, saying:

We’re pleased to partner with Simplilearn for the Applied Generative AI Specialization Program. The transformative impact of the AI revolution on diverse industries has sparked increased interest among aspiring professionals to elevate their skills in this dynamic field. Our collaboration with Simplilearn can help these professionals stay ahead in the ever-evolving landscape of Generative AI, a crucial domain in artificial intelligence.

Purdue University Online discovers and disseminates knowledge of unparalleled quality and scope. It has around 105,000 students studying across modalities and locations, with almost 50,000 on the West Lafayette campus. The University’s main campus has frozen tuition for the 13th consecutive year, demonstrating its commitment to affordability and accessibility. See how Purdue never stops relentlessly pursuing the next major leap—including its first comprehensive urban campus in Indianapolis, the new Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business, and Purdue Computes.
