Not just fun but essential to have our kids fall into the habit of typing as we see things getting digitized on a fast pace, keyboarding becomes an important skill.

The process of learning how to type differs across the span of a classroom. Some students learn visually, others auditory, but most will learn faster if keyboard training is in the form of a game. In fact, over the span of 60 different studies, results have shown that student’s achievement increases by 20% when playing educational games.  Keyboarding is a core skill for all students to learn. Enabling the kids to have fun to type together is something. This was the idea for the development of this typing web site. Many games are out there that help kids develop the habit of efficient typing. Typing Master is one such game. The multiple innovative game ideas will help kids to learn how to become effective keyboarders. Most games can be even tailored to meet the individual needs.

Pain Points/Needs:

Adaptive Learning, Common Core Standards

Platform:

Web based Platform.

Walkthrough:

The webpage showcases all the games that are there on the platform. There are various games to cater the diverse needs such as games to help kids with typing, introducing kids to typing, to help kids pace up the typing, free typing lessons, exercises to practice the typing, difficult puzzles games and more. The enlisted games do mentions a brief as in what it will help with and at the bottom of the page there is an open discussion forum where your queries will be answered by the community members or the other experts. Other than this the platform doesn’t require any special registrations or any other formality. Users can simply access the platform and get on with it.

Pricing:

The platform is free of cost.

Usability:

The free typing games help break down the barrier between different types of learners and make it easy to address the individual learning needs.

Learning the entire keyboard can often be difficult. Typing fingers should be limited in the beginning. This game site offers the ability to learn different portions of the keyboard at once. Home row, extended home row, upper row, all letters, a combination of letters and numbers and 10-key options headline the different courses of action for the individual. This can benefit the teachers in the sense of a true lesson plan. Teacher can ask everyone to start with home row keys only (with the Dance Mat Typing Game and Typing Galaxy) and then progress slowly to all letters on keyboard with Key Man and Key Tower. Only after each key is first trained separately, its good idea to start to type words in games withTyping Race and Typing Attack. This kind of bottom to up learning process supports all kids.

Our Review:

In our opinion Typing Master is a good way to start with the typing practices with kids. With interactive gamification, it becomes easier for parents and educators to help kids develop the efficient typing and keyboard skills. Also the feature to adjust according to individual needs make it a hit.

Parents and educators must try this platform with their younger ones to help them develop the essential keyboard skills.
