The fourth post in the series collects inputs from the CEO of JGI Group – Dr. Chandrasekhar D P on how JAIN Toddlers aim to be a center of excellence in preschool education.

1. What are the emerging trends you notice in early childhood education (in India or globally)?

Early childhood education is no longer the pop and mom store which operated next door. Today, these centers have to be centers of excellence providing the best of quality in conceptual learning and developing the personality of a child. The parents are expecting these and more and the schools are recalibrating themselves to cater to these needs.

2. What are some of the major challenges of early learning and running a preschool (chain) in a country like India?

Quality in manpower and aligning the overall strategy to the delivery is a constant challenge encountered by the pre-school operators across India. The only answer to this is to develop and implement in-house training programs periodically and constantly monitor the operating processes.

3. How do you think your schools differ from others?

We are a cradle to career organisation. As JGI Group we are not just into pre-school education alone, we are a conglomerate of 85 educational institutions pan India offering school, collegiate and post graduate programs. This integrated approach makes us prepare children of today to be the citizens of tomorrow.

4. What are your plans for expansion (in India or abroad)?

We are a group focusing on the roots before reaping the fruits. We are committed to build a strong foundation for our centers across India and then scale up. The last few years, we have focused on doing just that and now we are reaping the beefits of widespread reach across India. Soon Jain Toddlers will be a household name across Asia.

5. How does your chain of schools utilize the power of technology for improved early education?

Technology is an integral part of today’s education. In JAIN Toddlers, we recognize that and have constantly kept pace with it. Our curriculum is digital, our interaction with parents and partners is online and our assessments are through mobile apps. All in all, it is about blending content and convenience to everyone involved.
