The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and American chip company Intel recently announced the launch of the ‘AI for Entrepreneurship’ micro-learning module for young innovators across India, with the aim of training 1 lakh youngsters through the initiative. This programme aims to make artificial intelligence (AI) easy to understand while encouraging young minds to think like entrepreneurs. The project also includes the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a public-private partnership (PPP) institution overseen by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

This initiative is part of India’s larger plan to boost innovation, encourage inclusivity, and drive economic growth by equipping the next generation with essential skills for the digital age. Using Intel’s AI and business skills expertise, the programme aims to make advanced knowledge available to learners from all backgrounds, ensuring that no one is left behind in India’s tech revolution.

The “AI for Entrepreneurship” module aligns with the Indian government’s vision to empower young people with high-quality knowledge and tools to succeed in the digital economy. The main goals of this programme include:

  • Making AI Easy to Understand: The programme breaks down AI concepts so they are simple and useful. It also clears up myths about AI and entrepreneurship to help learners make informed choices.
  • Encouraging Entrepreneurial Thinking: Helping learners develop a business mindset to find opportunities and solve real-world problems with innovative solutions.
  • Promoting Inclusivity: Making sure people from all parts of India, whether urban or rural, get equal access to learning, bridging the digital divide.

Speaking about the initiative, Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary said:

This initiative embodies our commitment to fostering innovation, empowering individuals, and building a skilled workforce ready to shape the industries of tomorrow. Together, let us harness the power of AI to unlock potential, create jobs, and drive our nation towards a brighter, self-reliant future where talent and technology drive India’s growth story.

The module is available on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) and includes:

  • Interactive Learning: Engaging content with multimedia to suit different learning styles.
  • Comprehensive Curriculum: Covering how AI can help businesses, key business strategies, and creative problem-solving.
  • Easy Accessibility: Designed to be simple and accessible for city and village learners.
  • Industry-Recognised Certification: Participants will receive a certificate from MSDE, NSDC, Skill India, and Intel, improving their career opportunities.

Gokul Subramaniam, Intel India President & Vice President of Client Computing Group, added:

Collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship provides this initiative with the scale, reach and advances our commitment to bringing AI everywhere. Our goal is to skill 100,000 youth through this programme.

The cooperation between the Indian government and Intel is expected to play an essential role in India’s skill development efforts. The initiative aims to train young people to be tomorrow’s changemakers by making AI simple to grasp and fostering entrepreneurial thinking.
