To find out what exactly employers are looking for, and what it takes to successfully land in a job, LinkedIn looked at billions of data points and analyzed all of the hiring and recruiting activity that occurred on the site in 2016 to identify the most sought-after skills.

Following is the list of top 10 skills that will be demanded in 2017:

1. Cloud and Distributed Computing

The practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer is cloud computing. Distributed Computing is a field of computer science that studies distributed systems. In such model components located on networked computers communicate and coordinate their actions by passing messages. The components interact with each other in order to achieve a common goal. One of the demanded skills for 2017, the idea is to have people who can develop and maintain these networks.

2. Statistical Analysis and Data Mining

With humongous data available statistical analysis and data mining becomes an essential skill. Knowledge discovery in databases process becomes very important with the goal for the extraction of patterns and knowledge from large amounts of data, not the extraction (mining) of data itself. Employers increasingly need people to find and make sense of data.

3. Web Architecture and Development Framework

Websites are the source for everything in hand now. Employers needs people who can build websites that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. With this requirement, the demand for people who are well versed with computer languages and skills to come out with creative and functional websites are on boom for the coming time.

4. Middleware and Integration Software

Middleware enables communication between software programs. Integration middleware represents software systems that offer runtime services for communications, integration application execution, monitoring and operations.

The key function of middleware is to help make application development simpler. This is done by offering common programming abstractions, covering up heterogeneity, delivering fundamental operating systems and hardware, and masking low-level programming details. IT integration is an important but often complex aspect of IT strategy, and is essential to any organization that requires efficient sharing of information. For this complete function, employers need people with optimum knowledge on the subject and a flair of work on this concept of technology.

5. User Interface Design

Creating software that people interact with is becoming more important. With so many new apps and platforms budding to serve the purpose organizations are on the lookout to have people who can create such VPN for their work that fulfills all their requirements of communicating.

6. Network and Information Security

Security is a major concern in this time of internet as evil players can crack into the data and information. As the internet of things develops, security is becoming more important hence demanding those who can keep things safe over web.

7. Mobile Development

Constant changes and developments calls for constant improvement. This not only demand those who can do the work but creative minds who break through with even better ideas and work one step ahead. Skills like app development fit into the mobile development category and people good with both will be needed in the coming time.

8. Data Presentation

Employers increasingly need people who can organize data so it’s easy to understand. And when we talk of presentation of data it has to be simple to understand yet in ways that communicate the important points and is being able to convince potential viewers to get convince on the same.

9. SEO/SEM Marketing

Search engine optimization and search engine marketing has taken top position in this digital era. For any organization, search engine optimization and marketing has become very important and thus they need people who can do the same in the best ways.

Search engine optimization and search engine marketing improves web search ranking and everyone is in the race to rank the best.

10. Storage Systems and Management
