Working in parallel to tech, educators lives does depend on the tools that aid them with their work needs. And often, these tools are dependent on the internet. One thing that we all are aware of the technology hitches which mostly is due to the lack/poor internet. In such scenarios educators suffer. Understanding this, I’ve made this list of offline tools and apps that educators will find pretty useful.

The list below entails apps and tools that work offline for times when you can’t reach internet.

Check’em out:

1. Canary Learning

Grading and checking assignments is one of the most important function of the educators. It is one thing that occupies most of their time. Teachers use a lot of web tools to make their work efficient however internet remains the basic necessity for the tools. Canary Learning is one tool that can help educators without internet as well. It is one of the most used grading tools. The tool caters to the educators’ all grading needs making work efficient. Their iPad version supports full offline functionality, teachers can grade even without a network connection. Everything synchronizes transparently when network coverage returns.  All push-based capabilities are also fully cross-platform, so edits to lessons, schedules or assignments on laptops or iPads are immediately reflected on all student devices, regardless of device type, once the user is online.  There is no need to manually sync, press a button, or remember to save to your computer or to a cloud drive.

2. Pocket

This tool is usefull for educators who are always reading to make the perfect lesson resource. What makes Pocket useful is that while you browse the internet and find an article that you want to read later, you can easily save that resource and access it when you need to without depending on the availability of internet. Simply press the Pocket web extension and it syncs to all your devices that have the Pocket app. It is perfect to use Pocket when you come across an article through other apps that you don’t have time to read immediately but want to save for later. It is your go to resource bucket for you can read wherever and whenever. Open the Pocket app and read offline content at your own leisure.

3. Evernote

If you still haven’t started with this tool, now is the time. Evernote is a great cloud-syncing note-taking app. You can use Evernote for everything from creating grocery lists and to-do items, recording voice notes, and saving images and documents to refer to later. It has added features such as annotation, group sharing, and chats. At its core, it is still all about notes and being able to access and edit these notes when you are offline. There are premium features that include larger storage however the free version does the job pretty amazingly.

4. iBooks

This book store is loved by all the iOS users. The iBooks library is perfect for storing PDFs for offline reading. It also has the following features:

– Choose from eight attractive fonts and four easy-to-read page colors.

– Add bookmarks and notes, and highlight your favorite passages.

– Find a word, character, or phrase anywhere in your book with built-in search.

– Turn on Auto-Night Theme to make reading more comfortable on your eyes.

5. KA-Lite

KA LITE is an offline version of Khan Academy offering high-quality education by bringing the online learning accessible to the offline users.

KA LITE is open-source software that runs on the local server and users can watch Khan Academy videos and do exercises as well as track student’s progress, etc, everything without Internet connectivity.

So these are your offline apps so that nothing comes in between you and your work!
